Description
Bianco Typhoon Granite is quarried from a bedrock deposit in northern India, sourced from an expansive geological formation stretching approximately 35 miles. Because of the size of this deposit, natural variations in grain structure and crystal size can occur from shipment to shipment—adding to the individuality and authenticity of each slab.
This granite features a creamy white background accented by flowing movement of biotite and quartz, which add depth and dimension to the surface. The presence of mica creates a subtle three-dimensional shimmer, allowing the stone to catch the light and produce a refined, glittering effect.
Due to the inherent qualities of the material, slabs are typically book-matched. Consecutive slabs are cut and finished to create a mirrored image, then kept in sequence to ensure a cohesive and continuous pattern—ideal for waterfall islands, feature walls, and other statement applications.
During the brushing process, an epoxy resin is applied to the surface to fill any natural pits, fissures, or micro-cracks. This enhances the finish without affecting the stone’s durability, maintenance, or natural beauty. In rare instances, extremely small pits that cannot effectively retain resin may reopen during later finishing stages; however, this does not compromise the overall quality or appearance of the stone.
As with all natural stone products, periodic sealing is recommended to protect the surface and extend its longevity.
