Description
Taj Mahal Quartzite is a premium natural stone from Brazil, featuring a soft white to creamy background with subtle, flowing veining that echoes the elegance of Calacatta marble. While offering a similar refined aesthetic, it provides superior hardness and durability, making it ideal for kitchen countertops and high-traffic surfaces without the etching concerns associated with marble.
During fabrication, an epoxy resin is applied to fill natural pits and fissures, enhancing the surface finish without affecting performance. Slabs are typically book-matched to create a seamless, mirrored flow of veining, and a mesh backing is added for stability during handling and installation. Due to the stone’s density, certain edge profiles (such as ogee) may be limited and should be discussed with the fabricator.
As a quartzite with a more open structure, sealing with a penetrating sealer is recommended to ensure long-term protection and longevity.
