Scarlet Crystal Quartzite is a distinctive natural stone from Brazil, featuring soft blush-pink tones with a translucent quality reminiscent of onyx. While visually similar to pink onyx, it offers significantly greater durability, making it suitable for kitchen countertops and high-use surfaces without the scratching and etching concerns of softer materials.
Its natural translucency allows for backlighting applications, creating a dramatic and luxurious visual effect. During fabrication, epoxy resin is used to fill natural pits and voids—an inherent characteristic of this material—without affecting its overall performance or beauty. Slabs are typically book-matched to achieve a mirrored, continuous pattern, and a mesh backing is applied for added stability during handling and installation.
Due to its more open structure, sealing with a penetrating sealer is recommended to ensure long-term durability and protection.
