Description
Blizzard is a striking black granite quarried from a bedrock deposit in India. Featuring bold white veining across a deep black background, this stone offers a dramatic, marble-like appearance reminiscent of Negro Marquina from Spain—while delivering the superior strength and durability of granite.
The veining in Blizzard can vary significantly, even within the same block. Some slabs may display bold, high-contrast movement, while others present a more subtle pattern. For this reason, it is highly recommended to view a full range of available slabs prior to final selection to ensure the desired aesthetic.
Slabs are typically large in size, making Blizzard an excellent option for expansive installations and statement applications.
During the polishing process, an epoxy resin is applied to the surface to fill any natural pits, fissures, or micro-cracks. This enhances the finish without affecting the stone’s durability, maintenance, or overall beauty. In rare instances, extremely small pits that cannot effectively retain resin may reopen during subsequent finishing stages; however, this does not compromise the material’s quality or appearance.
Due to the stone’s characteristics, slabs are book-matched. Consecutive slabs are cut and polished to create a mirrored image and kept in sequence to ensure a cohesive, flowing pattern—ideal for waterfall islands, feature walls, and other dramatic installations.
As with all natural stone products, periodic sealing is recommended to protect the surface and extend its longevity.
