Description
Brilliant Black Quartzite is a premium natural stone quarried in Brazil. It features a deep black background enhanced by subtle, fluid movement, creating a sophisticated and elegant appearance. Due to its exceptional hardness, this quartzite achieves a brilliant, mirror-like polish—giving the stone its distinctive name.
Unlike marble, Brilliant Black quartzite offers superior resistance to scratching and etching, making it well suited for kitchen countertops and high-traffic surfaces.
During the polishing process, an epoxy resin is applied to fill natural pits, cracks, and fissures. This enhances the surface finish without affecting the stone’s durability or beauty. Because of the stone’s structure and veining, slabs are often book-matched, allowing consecutive slabs to form a mirrored pattern for a continuous design.
For added safety during handling and fabrication, a mesh backing is applied to the back of each slab. As with all natural stone, periodic sealing is recommended. Due to its more open structure, Brilliant Black quartzite requires a high-quality penetrating sealer to ensure proper protection.
